The Staircase is a grassroots performance space that supports artists at all stages of their careers. To ensure the artistic freedom of its artists The Staircase has made every effort to be free of heavy encumbrances from corporate and government funding. You can now support The Staircase directly with the "membership that makes a difference."

Historically The Staircase has survived on cafe and ticket sales. The addition of a membership will allow you to solidify your sense of involvement and directly financially help your beloved grass roots performance space. Simply put membership is a revenue stream that reflects our grassroots commitment to the community. This exactly how The Staircase was built, generous efforts from many people in the community. Your membership goes to support the building with utilities, maintenance and renovations, NOT wages. Your membership requires no voting obligation and represents a financial donation. One Membership Fits All

One membership fits all. There are no VIPs, no Inner Circles, and no memberships named after precious metals. Every Staircase membership has the same value. No one wil be denied a Staircase membership because they lack funds. A Staircase membership will not be required to participate in any Staircase event, except for membership appreciation events.

Personal Membership

You are a force of one! Get yourself a personal membership for The Staircase, and know you are supporting Hamilton's most diverse, beautiful, and established grassroots performance facility. Benifits include:

Gifting Membership

Purchase a membership for someone else! Your gifting membership can be given away as a gift to someone you know, or donated to an anonymous member. The Staircase will lend anonymous gifting memberships to those who are in financial need. You can badge your gifting membership with your name, or leave it anonymous. A gifting membership has all the benefits of a personal membership.

Corporate Membership

Get a bunch of memberships in your company's name. Corporations and organizations can purchase a collection of memberships branded with their company's name. Your coporation can gift the memberships to anyone they like, or let The Staircase gift them to needy members. For example Joe's Tires could purchase a strip of 10 memberships, and give 4 of them to interested employees and leave 6 to be used by The Staircase to give to people in need. Each membership would be branded as Gifted by Joe's Tires.

Family Membership

Your kids are automatically members! One adult membership can be used to give all dependent children under the age of 13 access to all membership privileges. There is no limit to the number of children. Any additional adults, or children aged 13 and over, would need their own membership. The adult membership holder must be present with their dependent children. We encourage families with means to get personal memberships for as many children as they can comfortably afford.

If you don't feel like becoming a member, but you still want to help you can make a micro donation of less than $5. This is NOT tax deductible and no receipt will be issued for tax purposes. Heck why make only one.
